I've been tagged
I (Linda) was tagged a few weeks ago, but couldn't remember how to sign on to post. I finally remembered to ask Lindsay. Bethany tagged me and I'm supposed to list 6 quirky things about myself. I couldn't think of anything, but my daughters came up with 6 things in a matter of about 30 seconds. Here's what they came up with.
1. I hate touching other people's feet. It kills me to cut my kids' toenails.
2. I wash my hands a little more often than "normal" people do.
3. I'm not very good at saying no.
4. I like the silverware in the dishwasher to be loaded with the spoons in one compartment, forks in another, etc.
5. I don't like to share my pillow. Even if Kevin uses it, I have to turn it over before I can use it.
6. The bills in my wallet (on the rare occasion that I have cash) have to be separated by denomination.
For the record, I don't think any of these things are quirky!

If boys would have been nicer...
Since Lindsay has created her own blog now, I guess I (Linda) will have to kick in and post some blogs for us once in awhile. I love to read about great conversations that one of my friends has with her kids on her blog. Today, Jacob and I had one that was pretty funny. We were getting in the car and he held the door open for our friend, Carly, and said, "Ladies first." About half way down the street I hear...
Jacob: I wish boys would have been nicer to Jesus when he lived here.
Me: Why?
Jacob: Because if boys would have been the nice ones, then the girls would have to open doors for boys.

What a Sunday!
When I woke up this morning, I have to admit, I was a little bitter that it was Fast Sunday. The day before had been a rough day. I hadn't been in the best mood. Then to wake up early, walk downstairs, only to see Jacob eating a big bowl of cereal knowing my stomach would be growling for most of the day.
But, despite my poor attitude, my testimony grew so much today. My attitude quickly changed. We often hear that we are children of our Heavenly Father, but do we actually know this is true? I think in the back of my mind I knew this was a fact and I knew that he loves each and everyone of us. But to really sit down and think of the comfort this gives us and what amazing people we really are hit me hard.
Sister Shirley Tieman gave an amazing lesson in YW. First, Sister Dawn Tieman handed out a piece of paper with either a drawing of a boy or girl. Then, we each had to think of someone we despised. At first this was hard, but then a name popped into my head. It wasn't really that I despised this person, but more of really never let feelings go from previous incidents. As the lesson went on, she asked us how we would feel if we could throw darts at our paper. We wouldn't be actually harming the person, more so letting our feelings go. What's the harm in that? As we all talked about how great it would feel to release these hurtful feelings, she put her drawing of her "annoying person" on the board. She acted like she threw her darts at the person. Then she took her picture off the wall. Behind the picture was a picture of Christ. Wow. What an incredible feeling of the spirit that entered the room. How can we hurt people like we are? Christ loves every single one of us. The thought of piercing Christ's picture because we were wanting to get even with our enemies is awful. She then related this concept with a scripture:
