Billingsley Christmas Party

We just (and by just I mean 2 weeks or so ago) we had our annual Billingsley Christmas party. It was a blast, as always. Lots of people were missing this year, and we missed you all! Here are just a few pictures of the fun day and just a few highlights of the activities!

First, we got to visit with all of our cousins...

Then, we had a Christmas Program...

Next, a special visitor came!

Finally, they all got to pile into a trailor and go on a ride with santa!

Kevin and Jessica Bennett

Thanks to Aunt Pam, we have some more pictures of the ring ceremony and reception! They had a lovely ring ceremony after their temple marriage so everyone could attend. It was beautiful. I am so happy I have a new sister-in-law. She is wonderful. Good job Kev :]

I've been tagged

I (Linda) was tagged a few weeks ago, but couldn't remember how to sign on to post. I finally remembered to ask Lindsay. Bethany tagged me and I'm supposed to list 6 quirky things about myself. I couldn't think of anything, but my daughters came up with 6 things in a matter of about 30 seconds. Here's what they came up with.
1. I hate touching other people's feet. It kills me to cut my kids' toenails.
2. I wash my hands a little more often than "normal" people do.
3. I'm not very good at saying no.
4. I like the silverware in the dishwasher to be loaded with the spoons in one compartment, forks in another, etc.
5. I don't like to share my pillow. Even if Kevin uses it, I have to turn it over before I can use it.
6. The bills in my wallet (on the rare occasion that I have cash) have to be separated by denomination.

For the record, I don't think any of these things are quirky!

Kevin and Jessica Tie the Knot

Kevin and Jessica were sealed in the Mesa Temple on November 26. That night, they had a beautiful ring ceremony (Jacob was the ring bearer, sorry if I butchered the spelling of that one) and reception at the Water Front in Tempe. We are so excited for both of them! Welcome to the Bennett Bunch Jessica!

Her dress was really the prettiest dress I have ever seen. Here are a few pictures from before the reception.

Logan's First Hair Cut

Our big boy finally got his first hair cut. He did so good sitting on Dad's lap! He held so still, surprisingly!
Don't worry...it's not a bowl haircut.

No Longer Happy.

He is getting a little impatient. But still holding still!

( I love Jacob in the back of this picture!)

Who knew screaming was cute?

Once again, I turned my camera wrong, and I don't know how to flip the video once it's already been taped.
Here is another video of Logan. What you can't see it Whitney making him laugh. every time he watches it...he screams again! It's adorable!

Sign Language

Our little man is growing up so fast! As you can tell, he likes his food :]. Well...Mom and I went to the mall to find a homecoming dress. We had him in a mall stroller (which he loved!) and he was SO hungry! Here's a video of him. The first sign he does with his hands (closing his hands and tapping finger tips together) means "more". After Mom gives him more, he is so proud of himself and has to clap!
Warning: I just got this camera so I didn't know how to take the video. So, it's sideways :]

If boys would have been nicer...

Since Lindsay has created her own blog now, I guess I (Linda) will have to kick in and post some blogs for us once in awhile. I love to read about great conversations that one of my friends has with her kids on her blog. Today, Jacob and I had one that was pretty funny. We were getting in the car and he held the door open for our friend, Carly, and said, "Ladies first." About half way down the street I hear...

Jacob: I wish boys would have been nicer to Jesus when he lived here.
Me: Why?
Jacob: Because if boys would have been the nice ones, then the girls would have to open doors for boys.

What a Sunday!

When I woke up this morning, I have to admit, I was a little bitter that it was Fast Sunday. The day before had been a rough day. I hadn't been in the best mood. Then to wake up early, walk downstairs, only to see Jacob eating a big bowl of cereal knowing my stomach would be growling for most of the day.

But, despite my poor attitude, my testimony grew so much today. My attitude quickly changed. We often hear that we are children of our Heavenly Father, but do we actually know this is true? I think in the back of my mind I knew this was a fact and I knew that he loves each and everyone of us. But to really sit down and think of the comfort this gives us and what amazing people we really are hit me hard.
Sister Shirley Tieman gave an amazing lesson in YW. First, Sister Dawn Tieman handed out a piece of paper with either a drawing of a boy or girl. Then, we each had to think of someone we despised. At first this was hard, but then a name popped into my head. It wasn't really that I despised this person, but more of really never let feelings go from previous incidents. As the lesson went on, she asked us how we would feel if we could throw darts at our paper. We wouldn't be actually harming the person, more so letting our feelings go. What's the harm in that? As we all talked about how great it would feel to release these hurtful feelings, she put her drawing of her "annoying person" on the board. She acted like she threw her darts at the person. Then she took her picture off the wall. Behind the picture was a picture of Christ. Wow. What an incredible feeling of the spirit that entered the room. How can we hurt people like we are? Christ loves every single one of us. The thought of piercing Christ's picture because we were wanting to get even with our enemies is awful. She then related this concept with a scripture:

Matthew 25:40: And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Sister Shirley and Dawn Tieman really did an amazing job teaching the lesson.
Another one of our leaders spoke to the class about her children. She told us each of her kids have different strenghts and weaknesses that the other does not possess. However, her love for them is so great. Her love for her children is a fraction of the love that our Heavenly Father has for us.
Last week, I was holding Logan when my mom asked me to take him into the living room, and ask him where Jesus is. Logan lifted his finger and pointed to the picture we have of Christ on the wall. No matter when you ask him, he will always point. However, if you ask him where Mom (or anyone else) is, sometimes he will point, sometimes he will not.
I know my Heavenly Father loves me. He loves me no matter how rotten or stubborn I may be. He knows my strengths and weaknesses and is here with me every ounce of the way. I know that if we ask Him to see the good in our enemies, he will do so, and our lives will be blessed for it. I know that every person in this world has divine qualities and so much good in them. I can't wait to see Him again. My heart is filled with love. I cannot put into words how truly thankful I am for the gospel. I can't wait to be with my family forever and to be sealed in the temple to my future family. We need to be more like the little children in our lives. Although they are small, they know who Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are and they can feel the love They have for us.

Pizza Night!

I know, it's a miracle! I'm on top of things! I am actually posting recent pictures :]

Tonight, Grandma and Papa along with Amber and Bret came over for pizza. We each made our own personal pizzas. It was so much fun! We mixed up the dough, rolled it out ourselves, and put the toppings we wanted on it. Unfortunately, I forgot to get the camera out until they were already in the oven. It was an easy, delicious recipe:

Pizza Crust

1 ½ C Warm Water
1 T Yeast
1 T Sugar
1 t Salt
3-4 C Flour
3 T Olive Oil

Let rise for 20 minutes

Bake at 400* for 20 minutes
